Introduction to Downland map reading
This course is just the ticket for outdoors people who want to explore, with confidence, new areas of our beautiful ‘Downs-land’ but have yet to acquire the essential skill of map reading.
The course runs on ‘Downs-land’ terrain and path systems. Skills covered include: map interpretation, symbols, pacing, using a compass and understanding contours.
There are no minimum skills, as the day is aimed at entry level, novices are very welcome. The day can also be very useful as a refresher for those clients with some experience.
